| Chloe Allison Tristant [the destined prophecy child] | Spoiler: | | | Name: Chloe Allison Tristant. Her friends tend to call her by her real name, Chloe, but she does find herself wishing she had nicknames. Something as simple as "Chlo" would suffice, but there really is not good nickname for Chloe. Brant calls her Trident, because of her last name, but that's the closest she has ever come to having a real nickname, which makes her like Brant a little more. The name Chloe means green, or green shoot, which appalls the girl. She'd prefer for white powder to cover green grass 100% of the time, and money means nothing to her. She doesn't come from a rich family, but the economy doesn't interest her. Age/Birthday: Chloe is 15 years of age. Her birthday is January 11th. Gender: She is 100% positive that she is a female. History: Chloe was born in the year 1997 to Lily Tristant, a stay at home mom, and Martin Tristant, an advertising hot shot. Chloe wasn't the first born, nor was she the first blonde, in the family. Her father had hair so blonde it almost looked white at the time, and somehow his recessive genes were transferred to his two oldest children; Chloe, and her 6 year old brother, Fisher. The first year of Chloe's life was involved several events that she can't remember living through for the life of her. The growing family moved to Central Texas, where they thought they could move into a house big enough for all of them to comfortable fit in. Leaving their hometown of Pasadena, California wasn't hard, but starting kindergarten in a strange new school district was extremely difficult for Fisher. He wasn't exactly the smartest child alive, and he wasn't good at adjusting. Somehow, the Tristant's managed on the farm, though. (Despite the aging it seemed to do on Lily.)
Another important step the Tristant's took in 1997 was the purchasing of a vacation home in Cloudcroft, New Mexico. Fisher, Martin, and Lily had learned to ski two years before in Colorado, which prepared them for the nice winters. The spring break Chloe was born, she was taken to the vacation house, where the only visible neighbors offered to watch over her while everyone else went skiing. As soon as everyone came to pick up the little girl, they heard roaring from inside the house, though it also sounded rather like squealing. Chloe was never told about this, and the Tristant's never went to the neighbors house again. Chloe doesn't remember this experience, and always looks down onto the house with suspicion and curiosity.
As soon as Chloe was old enough to stand, she was old enough to hit the slopes. Until she was 4, the blonde learned how to ski, but by the time she could control her choice, Chloe switched the snowboarding. As it turns out, this came more naturally to her than just skiing. She made friends snowboarding, and was definitely the smallest child on a board. Cloudcroft could be slightly busy during skiing season, so the attention made Chloe feel good about herself. Every little girl enjoys strangers calling them pretty. Chloe felt similar, except strangers told her parents she had real talent. It was almost the same.
Life at home was as easy to Chloe as snowboarding was. It wasn't hard for her to work her way up and down the social ladder, and this was often one of the decisions she made before going into her third grade class. "Do I want to be popular or nerdy today?" And Chloe was smart. Her grades could prove it. Everything she did seemed to be holding her back from her true potential. Her brains and mountain skills were supposed to take her somewhere, but because her actives weren't meeting the girl's real potential, that "thing" wouldn't happen.
In 4th grade, Chloe discovered dance. She had always known it was an option for her, but because her attitude as a snowboarder drove her to dislike anything girlie, the Tristant girl had never seen herself as a pretty pink ballerina. In truth, that's exactly what she was. Taking dance classes wasn't a must for the nimble girl to improve, but it helped. She learned tricks with ease and grace, while drifting away from the mountain. In less than a month, Chloe auditioned to be on the dance company and made it. It was official; Chloe Allison Tristant had found something that truly meant something to her life. She danced to live, or so it seemed. Everything revolved around her new passion, and the intensity she gave to each performance is one that brings tears to her family's eyes.
In 5th grade, Chloe had an extremely bad crash on the mountain. Her left leg was broken, and the bone had ripped out of her skin. The shriek she let loose as she fell happened to be the first bad word she'd said in public, "shit!" That got her grounded, but since she couldn't move, the grounding didn't have much effect on Chloe's life. The day her leg was broken, some amazing news was also revealed to cheer the little one and her teenage brother up. They were going to have a sister, and her name was going to be Regan. It wasn't long before Regan was born, and Chloe's little leg was healed. Regan was smarter than Chloe, which made the Tristant parents worry. If Regan was already so smart, what was going to happen when she started being taught? Something was seriously wrong with Regan, which was a cause for concern, even if it meant straight A's. After talking to several child counselors, the Tristant's decided Regan was influenced to do better than Chloe because they were practically competing for attention. Chloe was told to dumb it down for Regan's sake. Not wanting to displease her parents, Chloe obeyed, and locked up her genius.
At school, though Chloe was free to be herself, she never took advantage of the opportunity. She was already 14 years old, and things were going well. She was popular, single, and confident. She knew she was pretty and spent a lot of time in front of a mirror, whether it was in the dance studio, or in the middle of English class. Once she got caught staring at herself in the bathroom mirror by one of her friends. It was embarrassing, but they both laughed it off. It wasn't like any guys liked her, anyway. For some reason, people were usually drawn away from Chloe, even though she was both smart and popular, with some nice looks mixed in. She just wasn't the perfect girlfriend, and guys weren't afraid to tell her this. So, at age 14, she still had never had a boyfriend. Her best friend, Jarvin, was a guy, but he wasn't boyfriend material. He cared too much about Chloe's emotional well being. It wasn't worth the risk to take interest in the boy, Chloe finally decided. She had enough drama going on at home.
Fisher had been drinking at a party and gotten into a serious car accident. The doctors hadn't been sure if he would live to see the next day, and when he did, the doctors kept betting against his survival. He pulled through, somehow, and didn't die, but the Tristant's spent Chloe's 15th birthday in the hospital, counting down the days until Fisher could leave. He had suffered a minor brain wound, and he slipped in and out of consciousness often. It was obvious that 6 year old Regan didn't think her brother would survive, and Chloe was beginning to have doubts. Fisher showed improvement, but it had been two weeks since the party. He should have recovered. The night before Fisher's full awakening, Chloe spent the night at the hospital. She wasn't a very religious girl until that point, but she prayed her heart out hoping God would answer the call. Either he did, or the universe turned tables for the Tristant family, but Fisher woke up feeling like his old self.
In a desperate attempt to get Fisher away from the bad influences playing a part on his life, Lily and Martin packed up some of their things and told the children to do the same. They got in the car and drove for 10 hours to get to Cloudcroft, New Mexico before nightfall. It was a hard trip, and everyone was worn out from the Fisher drama, but they had to make it to their second home. They didn't want Fisher to have to deal with life at school until he felt stable, and nothing important was being learned. The car ride was hectic, and few stops were allowed, but everyone finally made it. This, my friends, is where everyone's story beings. Physical Appearance: Play-By provided. Personality: Chloe is a social girl, when it comes to her friends, but she is shy around other people, such as strangers or her family. She doesn't like to meet new people, and she has some issues with trust. People who mean nothing to her, or haven't known her for long enough, will probably think she's overly shy and reserved, but she has good reason. It was extremely hard on her to be convinced that Fisher was going to die for so long. After living with the fact that he was gone, and quickly transitioning to a state of panic over leaving, Chloe started mentally shutting down. It feels to her like she drowning in emotion. The Tristant's have noticed, but none of them are plying lifeguard. They have their own discomfort to deal with. To any outsider, it's obvious the Tristant's are having trouble coping with the immediate change.
Chloe is brave and knows her place. If she's told to do something that she doesn't want to do, and doesn't need to be done, she'll fight against the order. It doesn't take a genius to see that she can be a fighter. Chloe enjoys being rebellious because it is a polite way to be a freedom seeker. Chloe believes in rights, and can be a little bit of an activist herself, which makes her the perfect human prophecy child. She can asses strengths and weaknesses well, and knows more about herself than most humans do. The girl also has a tendency to believe everything happens for a reason, and might make mental note of how much like a movie her life is. Everything that happens to her keeps building up and leading to where she is today, which frightens Chloe. A lot of things frighten Chloe.
The teenager is afraid of heights. She isn't sure why, but she is. Whenever she gets to the top of a mountain, she'll try and snowboard down as fast as she can. It builds her skill level to do so, which is a reason Chloe's as good as she is. Her family once took a trip to the Indian cave villages, and Fisher had to carry her to the top. She's also afraid of the unknown, but extremely curious of it as well. This fear branches off into several little fears. Chloe tries to keep her distance from strangers. She hates the dark, because she can't see around her. She also reads about the end of a movie before going to see it. It's her fears taking over. She can't control them, and no one has been able to help her through them. Her most secret fear is her fear of being left alone by the ones she loves. She doesn't want to feel heartbreak or the pain of loneliness, and instead of letting herself have a commitment, she makes sure nothing comes from her friendships; not even a small fling.
When trying something new, Chloe is daring and skilled. She learns quickly, which is a factor in her smartness. It's easy for her to pick up on things, and she doesn't have to try very hard on anything but the arts, which happens to be where she holds the most talent. Dance came easy to her, but took practice and patience to perfect. (And being a little bit of a perfectionist, Chloe wouldn't stop until she was perfect.) Chloe can sing, too, but she doesn't trust her own voice. Her lying is usually spot on, which relates to her acting skills, but she has trouble reading from a script. It interferes with one of her biggest character traits, the desire to not let anyone control her life. When reading something off of a piece of paper, she feels like someone's puppet. Improv is where she shines acting wise, which doesn't make for anything but a comedian. Her humor is a little out there, combining different styles of comedy to make one.
Chloe is young at heart, but her juvenile youth is slowly fading as she faces more and more hardships. She knows that, but it's hard for her to except the truth. The doesn't want to believe she's any different than the day she was born, and she doesn't welcome change kindly. Though she'll sit idly by and watch life veer of the course she planned for it to travel on, all Chloe wants to go is gain control. Sometimes she can have street smarts, not just her usual book smart, and she knows she has to accept the way she changes, even if it means slipping away and discovering a new part of her.
While she isn't one to be loyal in an extreme way, Chloe knows when to put who first. It's one of the instincts she picked up while reading. From her favorite book characters, she developed several major character traits. She got used to reading about them and managed to adapt their way of life into her own life. From Robin Hood, she learned it's okay the break the rules if you know what you're doing is right. She wants to do what's right, but she understands that the rules aren't always right. Some people can just write things down and call them rules. Chloe understands things better than she lets on. From Harry Potter she learned that friends are more important than any form of power or type of control. Chloe tried desperately to incorporate this into her life, but since she has trust and people problems, the only friends she ever earned didn't mean the entire world to her. From The Cat in the Hat, Chloe learned her favorite lesson of all. Sometimes, no matter the situation, you need to remain worry free. Occasionally, you can even let loose completely. There's nothing wrong with having a little worry-free fun. Talents:
Chloe is an amazing dancer. Her favorite style of dance, and the one she is best at, is lyrical, because it combines ballet and jazz, the foundation of most dance. Chloe is a daring and talented snowboarder. She "grew up in the snow," and knows her way around the slopes. Something only Brant knows about her, because he sits hidden outside while she does this, is that Chloe is has a pretty singing voice. Whenever she goes outside with her dog in New Mexico, she sings, because she's feels completely alone. She doesn't know Brant sits listening, trying to find enough courage to jump out from behind the snow. Other: Chloe has a pet beagle. His name is Jake, and he's 3 years old. |
